Our method
This page sets out how articles on Fitness Focussed are written, checked and corrected, so you can judge how far to rely on them.
One question per article
Each piece starts from a single practical question, such as how much protein an active adult needs or how to plan a three-day training week. We try to answer it fully, give you steps you can use, and be honest about where the answer depends on you.
Where the information comes from
- We base health and nutrition guidance on established public guidance and widely accepted consensus, for example national health services and public health bodies, rather than on single new studies or headlines.
- We only use specific figures when they are well established and easy to check, such as adult physical activity guidelines. Where evidence is mixed or individual responses vary, we say so.
- We do not invent statistics, quotes, experts or personal stories. If we cannot back a claim, we leave it out.
How AI tools are used
Some first drafts are produced with the help of AI writing tools. A draft is never published as it comes out. It goes through a separate checking pass for unsupported claims, then a human editor reads it line by line, removes anything that cannot be supported, tightens the advice and approves it. Responsibility for what we publish sits with the editors, not with a tool.
Independence
We are not paid by any brand, gym, supplement company or app. We do not use affiliate links and we do not recommend specific products. When we talk about equipment, we explain what to look for instead of what to buy.
Language and sensitivity
We write about body weight and food without shaming language, fast-loss promises or labels like “good” and “bad” foods. We keep in mind that some readers may have a difficult relationship with food or exercise, and we point to professional support where it is relevant.
Corrections and updates
If something we published is wrong or out of date, we fix it. Email [email protected] with the article link and the issue. Meaningful corrections are noted at the end of the article.
